IBPS PO Cutoff 2015(expected), 2014 and 2013 :

IBPS PO Cutoff 2015 – For all the candidates enquiring about the IBPS PO Cutoff for 2015, we have compiled this article so that you can get an estimated idea of the least qualifying marks in the examination to get selected in the next stage. As you all know, this year onwards, IBPS would conduct the Probationary Officer CWE examination in two tiers – tier 1 (prelims) and tier 2 (mains). IBPS PO Result 2015 for Prelims Exam to be declared in 3rd week of October 2015… Click the link to details. The first tier is of qualifying in nature while the second tier is qualifying and marks from this round would be assessed to calculate the cumulative score. Naturally the number of applications of cutoff has risen from the last year. Before we put forth the figures of cutoff from previous year and estimated cutoff for this year, let’s take a look on what IBPS PO cutoff is.

Cutoff of IBPS PO is basically a selection parameter which is applied on the marks of the candidate. It is used for two purposes – to delimit the number of candidates in the examination and recruitment process and to ensure that only the most deserving candidates make it to the next round. Hence it is required for each candidate to score as much marks as possible to strengthen the chances of selection. Higher the marks in the exam better is the chance of selection. If the marks of the candidate are equal to or more than the IBPS PO cutoff, he would be selected but if the marks are less than the cutoff, he would be rejected.

In each level of the written examination, cutoff is applied on individual test as well as total score. Since there are going to be two tiers for 2015, IBPS PO cutoff would be applied in prelims and mains both. However, the marks in prelims would not be used for final merit preparation.
Process for Arriving at Scores
  • Number of questions answered correctly by a candidate in each objective test is considered for arriving at the Corrected Score after applying penalty for wrong answers.
  • The Corrected Scores so obtained by a candidate are made equivalent to take care of the minor difference in difficulty level, if any, in each of the objective tests held in different sessions to arrive at the Equated Scores*. * Scores obtained by candidates on any test are equated to the base form by considering the distribution of scores of all the forms.
  • Final scores in each test are rounded off to the nearest integer.
