10 Tips to crack IBPS PO in 10 days

Now that call letters for IBPS PO 2015 are out, aspirants are both anxious and confident about the exam. The confident ones are busy fine tuning the final strategies, while the anxious candidates are skeptical about the pattern, difficulty, clearing cutoff or scoring well, constantly hounded by the  ‘what ifs’.  ‘What if the paper is harder than usual’, ‘What if im not able to clear the cut off’  and countless others.  We at MockBank are being bombarded with queries like these. Hence, we have decided to prepare a comprehensive list of 10 Things you need to know to crack IBPS PO in 10 days.
10 Tips to CRACK IBPS PO in 10 days.
THE ELEMENTS
1.  There are three elements which together shape the IBPS PO exam strategy.
a. Time management- How do you attempt the question paper? How to divide the time among sections and in what order questions should be attempted?
b. Accuracy- Making sure that you minimise the number of wrong answers and negative marking, so that marks per question gets maximized
c. Speed- How to attempt questions faster? How to do quick calculations? How to increase reading speed?
2. Most of the aspirants believe that Speed is the most important factor, but in reality it is not. There are multiple factors that play important roles inIBPS PO exam strategy. Candidates, with average speed, have managed to perform excellently and have produced phenomenal results by perfecting their Time Management and Accuracy. So how do they do it? It is simple, they focus exclusively on Time Management and Accuracy.
Time Management
3. Ideally, you should be able to go through all the questions at least once in the exam. It helps you identify questions which are easy and can be solved in less time. At the last leg of the preparation, if you still feel that you are not able to go through all the questions at least once, you need to work upon your time management.
4. For better time management, we recommend the tried and tested strategy by the toppers who scored well in IBPS PO  –
a) First attempt the English section. This section takes minimum time. You should be able to attempt it in about 10-15 minutes. One down and two to go.
b) Divide the next 45-50 minutes in the remaining 2 sections equally, i.e. 20-25 minutes each. However, if you feel that you are scared of a particular section, you may allocate more than 25 minutes to that section. Please, make sure that you follow this time management strategy as it will help you clear all the sectional cut-offs.
c) Attempt the sections in the following order- English – then section you feel most comfortable in – then the section you are most scared of.
5. In the above sections,  attempt the questions in the following order: first the questions you know and can solve quickly, then the questions you think you can do but are time consuming. Remember never try and waste your time attempting the questions you are not confident of solving. There are a lot of other questions to solve and score.
Accuracy
6. In English, only guess if you are at least 40-50% sure of the answer, i.e. you will be able to eliminate 2-3 options.
7. In Quant and Reasoning, there should be no guesses at all. Double check your solutions and be extremely conscious. Your aim should be to achieve an accuracy of 100% in the above two sections.
8. Many Questions in Quant and Reasoning are caselets, i.e. one paragraph or data set, and many questions based on that. You must solve all the questions of the given set in one go. Do not leave the set partially solved, hoping to do the rest of the questions at the end. It will be time consuming increasing your chances of error. Solve the complete set in one go, if you are not sure of certain questions, you should leave them altogether, instead of marking them for review.
Speed
9. Speed mostly matters in the following types of questions:
a) Reading Comprehension: You can consider reading the questions first before reading the passage. This way, while reading the passage itself, you will be able to mark the answers and all questions will be done in only one reading of the passage
b) Data interpretation- If the answers are numbers not close to each other, then you do not need to do accurate calculations. You can round off the numbers and do approximate calculations and mark the answer closest to the answer you calculated
c) Long calculations- You can work on speed mathematics
PREPARATION STRATEGY
10. As the exam is now very close, keep your focus on revision and mock tests practice. Stay confident and calm. IBPS PO is just one of the many competitive examinations. Have faith in yourself. Good luck
