1. Time Management is Important:
In order to clear the IBPS PO Mains exam one thing that needs to be kept in mind is that managing your time effectively is a very crucial task. As you might be aware of, there will be 200 questions in the exam and the time duration to solve these questions is 2 hours. Allot specific time to each section in such a way that the section that you are most confident about gets less time and the section in which you are not that strong gets the maximum time. For example if you are not good with quantitative aptitude, allot that section more time than the others.
2. Do Not Open Your Books at the Last Minute:
Opening your books and studying just 15 minutes prior the exam will not help you in any way. It will increase your nervousness and tension, in order to score well in this exam it is very essential that you keep yourself calm and your brain tension free. Hence, do not indulge in last minute studying as it will confuse you further.
3. Attempt the Section You Best Know First:
Attempt the section that you have prepared for the most, first. You must never attempt your weak section first as it will greatly harm your confidence level. Hence, for example if you are the most confident about the English section, attempt all the questions of English first and then move on to the other sections so that by the time you reach your weaker section, you already have confidence and are familiar with the examination hall atmosphere.
4. Don’t Get Stuck Up On One Question:
If you don’t know a question then the smart move is to move ahead so that you do not miss out the questions that you know. Do not spend too much time on one question, trying to understand it. Remember, you have 200 questions to answer and for one question you cannot put 50 other questions at stake.
5. Keep Negative Marking in Mind:
Remember the fact that 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer, hence you must not speculate or try ‘guess-work’ answers when it comes to answering questions. A 0 is better than -2.5 marks; hence only answer the questions that you are absolutely certain about. A wrong answer will cause more harm than a question left unanswered.
